2. Road to the Stars (1957)

Film about the Tsiolkovsky ideas made by Pavel Klushantsev, the master of SFX and the author of “The Moon”, very nice example of his partially fantastic and partially scientific movies. It was shot just few month before the launch of Sputnick. https://youtu.be/9CX0oSjwLqI

3. The Sky Beckons (1959)

Classic Soviet space movie about journey to Mars with graphics of space artist Yury Shvets. https://youtu.be/TJgP8nAvLUo

It was bought by the USA and remade to complete different movie “Battle Beyond the Sun”. All “soviet propaganda” was removed and the plot was changed by young Francis Ford Coppola who added battle with martian monsters to the film. https://youtu.be/_O835bcIaS0

Also the is opinion that Stanley Kubrik's 2001 used drawings and graphics solutions from this movie.
